On being 30

OLD

antikris:

I dont have an issue with being 30.  All my parts are still in tact (on most days).  I have a problem with my dating age group.  I look at some of these men that email me and think “he could be my dad”.  Last dude I dated was 24 and the age difference was apparent emotionally, but I foresee my cougardom expanding in the future.

Marys, I wouldn’t ever make the fun for you. If you have a wrinkle then dr. bobo can make you ok again. It is your body. it is you’re wrinkled head. No man/woman/animal should and could make you a shame for. I clap hands in direction of NYC.
maryrambin:

I recently had my second round of botox injections from Dr. Bobby. Better.tv came along to shoot a segment on Botox as a preventative measure and address the issue of women under 30 having procedures done.  I’m not the only woman under 30 with this dilema.
Click here to see the video. My segment starts at 1:53.

I wear yellow, orange, blue, pink. I am 1 step in front of rambo!
maryrambin:

A LITTLE COLOR WOULDN’T KILL YA
When I look in my closet all I see is black, white, and gray.  When I walk the streets of NYC, all I see is black, white, and gray.  I blame my wardrobe on my recent vagabond lifestyle; black, white and gray clothes go with everything and travel well.  I blame black for being too damn practical during the sludge months for sucking the life out of people’s outfits in the winter.  (And I think some blame should be assigned to Carl Lagerfeld for making black too fabulous to refuse.)
But you know what, my new pink neon hat goes with everything too.  It’s so loud and proud that people love it despite whether it matches.  It makes me smile to put it on.  What’s your color these days?

Dear Mary,
I need help!!  I bought a silk scarf from Banana Republic (50% off) today but I have no idea how to wear it.  I tried a few different ideas below but I don’t think the ‘flight attendant’ or the ’60s chick’ is quite my thing.  Style advice needed!
Thank you!

G,
I’m going to be honest with you.  I’m not a fan of the scarf.  It’s not because you found it in the sale bin.  There are a lot of fun finds in the clearance section.
BUT, you are so much trendier than this scarf.  This scarf belongs on suburban mommies….wait…I know plenty of trendy mommies.  It just doesn’t work (nor did it for the summer). You saw for yourself by tying it many different ways.  I applaud your effort for thinking outside of the box.
Scarves for fall are knits, fur, faux fur, cashmere, or velvet.  Paisley was last fall so put those away.  Plaids are still hot (remember “Country Chic”).  Silk is reserved for summer and old ladies.
Sorry G.  My advice: return or burn.

Hows abouts a silken Channel scarf you wear as a top-shirt?

Politi-slut it up

maryrambin:

From a friend —

Mary should be Cindy McCain

Meghan should be Michelle Obama

Julia should be Sarah Palin. She can even slut it up since she seems so determined.

This is not the first time we have heard this suggestion.
